Unpacking the Paradox of the Pandemic; Once Question at a Time
First Question:
Why am I writing this?
Because I want to share my perspective. When you are alone, you have an opportunity to go deep inside and decide what your perspective is. We are such sensitive human beings, there is so much information coming at us each day. And, we get to choose how we use our senses.
What do we listen to?
What to we watch and look at?
What do we touch and feel?
How do we move our body?
What is in our environment?
How does our body feel?
What is our mind doing, saying, thinking?
What is our awareness of all of this?
As I live on an island by myself I am blessed with a quiet and peaceful environment, with a view of the water, and the sounds of ducks, seagulls, owls at night, an occasional boat motor, the wind, my heater blowing warm air. I choose to live without television, I use my phone and social media or the web to access information that I need to know about the outside world. I feel at peace and I feel safe.
The home where I live is spacious and tidy, with colorful furniture and books, knitting yarns, fresh food on the counter and candle’s burning in the evening.
My life was not always like this, as a child I grew up in a home with a lot of activity, 3 siblings, a dog, neighbors, the TV on the Radio on in the background, cigarette smoke wafting from the kitchen.
I wasn’t always aware that my surrounding influenced my nervous system. The journey of healing has taken me to a new understanding of my choices and who I want to be and how I want to live.
So let’s start there.
What do you want? Where do you want to live? How do you want to live?
What are you noticing in response to the questions listed above?
